New Jersey Real Estate Salesperson License Requirements

Basic Requirements

To qualify for a New Jersey Real Estate Salesperson License, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Complete the required 75-hour pre-licensing course


School Final 

• The course includes a school final exam
• A minimum score of 70% is required to pass


Course Completion Certificate

After successfully completing the course, we will provide:

• An electronic certificate of completion
• Instructions on how to register for the New Jersey state licensing exam


Obtaining Your License

After completing the 75-hour salesperson course, students must:

  1. Register for the state licensing exam with PSI

  2. Pass the New Jersey Real Estate Salesperson Exam

  3. Complete fingerprinting and a background check

  4. Find a New Jersey licensed real estate broker to sponsor you
    • Submit your license application through the broker

    The broker will complete the licensing process with the New Jersey Real Estate Commission (NJREC).
